Getting started

How do we schedule a visit?

Complete the facility inquiry form or call us at 239-206-0147, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will return your call or message within 1 business day to plan your first visit.

How often do you visit?

We visit partner communities monthly. Visits are scheduled ahead of time as dedicated time blocks, so we can help as many residents as possible in a single visit.

Is there a cost to our facility?

No. Partnering with NestOptical is free for your facility. Residents pay only for the eyeglasses they purchase.

What does our facility need to provide during a visit?

Just a quiet space with a table, chairs, and good lighting, along with a list of residents who would like to be seen. That list helps us make the most of each scheduled time block.

Which counties do you serve?

We serve nursing homes and assisted living communities in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Glades, DeSoto, and Hendry counties.

Prescriptions and exams

What if a resident does not have a copy of their prescription?

That is okay. We contact the resident's optometrist or ophthalmologist directly for the prescription information.

Do you provide eye exams?

Not at this time. Residents need a current prescription from their optometrist or ophthalmologist. We are working to partner with local optometrists to offer exam services in the future.

Who fits the eyewear?

Every resident is fitted by a Florida-licensed Optician who takes precise measurements and helps each resident choose the right lenses for their vision needs.

Payment

Who approves and pays for a resident's eyewear?

Residents can approve their own purchases, or their POA or caregiver can approve purchases on their behalf.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

When is payment due?

Because eyeglasses are custom made for each resident, payment is due at the time of purchase.

Do you accept Medicaid or insurance?

NestOptical is currently self-pay. We are in the process of credentialing with Florida Medicaid and will share updates as coverage becomes available.

Eyewear and ongoing care

When do residents receive their glasses?

Eyewear is delivered during our scheduled monthly visits. If a resident needs eyewear sooner, emergency dispensing can be scheduled upon request.

What if a resident's glasses need adjusting or repair?

Adjustments, tune-ups, and minor repairs are provided at no charge during our visits. Major repairs can be scheduled at the time of the visit, and pricing is based on the specific repair.

Is there a warranty?

Eyewear carries the manufacturer's limited warranty, which covers scratches and defects. It does not cover loss.

What if a resident loses their glasses?

Loss of eyewear is not covered under warranty. A replacement pair can be ordered during our next monthly visit, or sooner through emergency dispensing upon request.

Do you offer contact lenses?

Yes. We fill current contact lens prescriptions and deliver lenses directly to residents.
